Abstract: This research examines the effects of early childhood education (ECE) on the development of self-regulation skills in young children. The objective is to assess how ECE programs foster self-control, emotional regulation, and behavioral management abilities. A survey research design is employed to collect data from 250 parents and educators in Plateau State, using purposive sampling to represent diverse socioeconomic backgrounds and educational settings. Findings indicate that quality ECE experiences promote the development of self-regulation skills, including impulse control, attentional focus, and conflict resolution techniques, which are essential for academic success and social competence. Recommendations include implementing mindfulness practices, promoting consistent routines, and providing professional development for educators on fostering self-regulation in ECE settings.
